April 2012: A Pink & Green Wedding

You know you did something right when a bride tells you at April 2011 bridal show that she wants her wedding flowers to be EXACTLY like the ones you are displaying.  Megan, the bride, loved the pink garden roses, green viburnum and white hydrangeas that helped me to win 'BRIDE'S CHOICE: Best Table Top Display' at the Southern Women's Bridal Show.  You never know where your inspiration will find you!

For Megan's wedding, April 2012 wedding, I gave her a mix of these colors to make the bouquets and centerpieces just pop.  The addition of lots of candlelight made the Carolina Trace Country Club setting
just glow.  With the help of my assistant, Amber, we created a setting for the reception that the guests just raved about as the evening continued until the late hours.

Heather & G.W.'s April 2012 Wedding, Spring Garden Style

Spring is still in the air...sort of ?!?!  And, until the heat of summer sets in completely to Raleigh, NC it is time to get back to the blogging!  Heather, the beautiful bride, was a dream to work with from the start.  At our first meeting, Heather showed me a photo of a brightly colored bouquet and said "This is what I want".  Easy enough.  Heather was not picky about flower types but did insist that the styling of the bouquets and simple centerpieces be rustic...aka 'the picked fresh from the garden look'.  The use of mason jars for the centerpieces helped to further promote the casual feel.

The creations of bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and arrangements included; peonies, anemones, lisianthus, stock, ranunculus, freesia, roses, mini mums, heather (of course!) and fern curls.

Check out the wonderful images provided by photographer Wendy Peak.  The lighting that day, inside and outside, was suberb.  Many thank you's to the staff at Cafe Luna for providing the venue/ food for the reception.  The "rustic" appeal of their space fit the mood perfectly.

More blogs from my spring & summer weddings to soon follow.

Enjoy!
